Master of Museology staff

Members of our current and former lecturing staff play major and influential roles in ICOM and related organizations. Through these organizations and our own work we made a substantial contribution to 'New museology' and 'Community museology'.

The lecturers of the Master of Museology are all professionals with extensive experience in the museum and heritage field. Permanent staff members have a deep understanding of international issues; they will be joined by both Dutch and international guest lecturers also experts in their areas of specialisation. Museum visits often include presentations by curatorial staff of the host institutes.

The Reinwardt Academy established one of the first Master of Museology courses in The Netherlands. It has been a working centre for more than 40 years and has made a name for itself as a centre of expert knowledge. Its influence and status in the field is due to its very active participation in the cultural heritage and museum world.

Our lecturers, who combine pioneering work and long experience with new leading-edge thinking, have always been involved in international discourse on museology and heritage and they play a leading role in the development of theoretical and applied museology.
